TA Provider Webinar: Client Complaint Mechanisms
WebEx, 3:30 a.m. EST/ 2 p.m. IST 

During this 90-minute webinar, Hema Bansal, Senior Director of the Smart Campaign, will discuss how technical assistance (TA) providers can help implement client complaints mechanisms. The webinar will be held in English; a session on the same topic was held in French last month. The webinar is the latest in the TA Provider Series, which has also featured sessions on pricing transparency and preventing over-indebtedness. The next in-person meeting of the SPTF Social Investor Working Group will take place as a pre-meeting of the 2018 SPTF Annual Meeting. The Working Group meeting, which is open to investors only, will discuss the progress, updates, and challenges of ongoing investor initiatives in responsible inclusive finance. If you haven’t registered yet, please do so as soon as possible. SPTF Annual Meeting Workshop:
Digital finance for the oral segment
 
Mamallapuram, India


This workshop at the 2018 SPTF Annual Meeting will be led by MicroSave. Participants will discuss how “oral people” — those who communicate mostly without text — manage their financial lives and how their needs for digital interfaces are different from literate people. The workshop will draw from MicroSave’s “Digital Wallet Adoption for the Oral Segment in India.”

SPTF Annual Meeting Workshop:
Using customer outcomes to drive strategic decisions
Mamallapuram, India


This workshop at the 2018 SPTF Annual Meeting will feature practitioners who are convinced that understanding the effects of their products on customers’ lives (outcomes) is central to a successful business model. Providers will discuss how to measure and manage outcomes data, and what their own data show about the effectiveness of financial services for low-income people. Participants will practice selecting indicators and analyzing data for management use.

SPTF will hold its next annual meeting in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu, India from February 19-22, 2018. This year's meeting -- entitled Customer Centricity Learning Event: Enabling Financial Choices and Positive Outcomes for Low-Income Customers -- is an event jointly organized by SPTFCGAP, LeapFrog Investments, and Dvara

SPTF to launch Responsible Inclusive Finance Facility for Southeast Asia (RIFF-SEA)

SPTF is pleased to announce that it has received funding from the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to support a Responsible Inclusive Finance Facility in Southeast Asia (RIFF-SEA). The support will cover the three-year period from 2018-2020. The RIFF-SEA will aim to advance responsible inclusive finance practices in Southeast Asia by providing trainings and co-financing activities. 

RIFF-SEA will focus on Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Vietnam. 

This facility will be modeled after SPTF's two other regional implementation facilities: Responsible Microfinance Facility (RMF), which aims to advance responsible inclusive finance practices in Africa and the Middle East, and the Fondo para las Finanzas Responsables e Inclusivas en Centroamérica y Caribe (FFRI-CAC), which focuses on Central America and the Caribbean.

AMIR to host  International Conference on Responsible and Inclusive Finance in March 2018

The Association of Microfinance Institutions in Rwanda (AMIR) is hosting the International Conference on Responsible and Inclusive Finance in Kigali, Rwanda from March 21-22, 2018. The conference will provide participants an opportunity to discuss the Rwandan financial inclusion agenda, as well as best practices for responsible inclusive finance, with an emphasis on client protection. Register by February 15 to qualify for early bird rates. 

REDCAMIF launches financial inclusion magazine

The Central American and Caribbean Microfinance Network (REDCAMIF) has published a magazine featuring the achievements, goals, and statistics of 14 financial service providers affiliated with REDCAMIF. The magazine, which was published with support from ADA, can be found here
