#SPTF2017 Annual Meeting
Mexico City, Mexico

Plenary Session: Fintech: Bringing Providers Closer to their Clients
Given the importance of technology in our field, how can more financial service providers embrace technology while also protecting the interests of clients? Is Fintech just making it easier for providers to sell more products and cut costs, or do clients also benefit from new and innovative products that are better suited to their needs? This session will explore regional and global examples that address such Fintech questions.

The 2017 SPTF Social Investor Working Group Meeting

During the 2017 SPTF Social Investor Working Group Meeting on Responsible Inclusive Finance, the group identified two new sub-working groups: Assessing social and environmental performance of SME lenders (an area where SPTF and e-MFP will collaborate), and increasing alignment between asset owners and investment managers (an area where SPTF is collaborating with UNPRI, GIIN, the WEF, and the Impact Management Project).

Group members agreed to continue working on other priority areas, including: harmonizing SPM due diligence (ALINUS), harmonizing loan agreement covenants (looking at FX risks), measuring and reporting on social outcomes, pricing transparency data platform (providing feedback to the simulation to be conducted by Microfinanza Rating), equity and responsible exits, and preventing over-indebtedness.

Read the summary notes and review the presentations from the meeting. Please contact Leticia Emme with any questions. The SIWG co-chairs will provide an update via a webinar on May 12. More details will be provided soon.

Board members representing all stakeholder groups met in Bern in March 2017 to discuss priorities and potential funding structures going forward. We will be sharing more details with you in the coming months via the SPTF newsletter and also at the #SPTF2017 Annual Meeting in Mexico.
